Keeping everyone up to date on the happenings in my life.

It was actually the very day that I moved my new press into the Funhouse that I got a call from one of the designers from Hometown to see if I would be interested in working on a project. With them. Since the entire show has been all about our little town of Laurel, Mississippi
I was really excited to be a part of the program. I had no idea at the time what a challenge it was going to be to make the Woodcut that they needed. It was much more detailed than my normal work and there wasn’t a lot of room for error. Plus the time frame required me to work at an even faster than normal pace.  It was really cool to have the crew come into the Funhouse and for me to get a behind the scenes look at how a show such as this goes down! It was also really cool to be able to help install the wallpaper for the backsplash we made with the prints.

One of the highlights of my most recent trip out to California was being able to meet Craig Stecyk while I was at Hurley.  Among his many accomplishments, Craig was the Creative Director for Powell Peralta. His vision is largely responsible for much of the iconography throughout the history of skateboarding.

When Ian was first diagnosed with Leukemia, he got great packages in the mail almost every day! It really helped to keep his, and our, spirits up. Now that we're about a year and a half into his recovery, he doesn't get stuff in the mail much anymore. but when he does, it's a lot of fun for the whole family!  Ian got a package today from a friend of mine that was loaded with bags of delicious homemade cookies, toys, microwave corn on the cob popcorn!!! and more !!! Thanks so much Lindsey!!!

After many years and many half hearted attempts, we finally have a blog for the whole family! I am in the process of updating my website. I wanted to really emphasize just how important my family is in relation to everything I do as an artist. There are a lot of places to look if you want to see pictures of my artwork, this is really about all the stuff we do together as a family.

Last month back in April we went on a Disney Cruise to the Bahamas as Ians' Make a Wish. Most people that know me know that  our seven year old, Ian, has been battling Leukemia for about a year and a half. I'll be writing more about the cruise, and more about Ian in future posts but for now I just wanna go upstairs and hang with the whole family....
